How do you guys keep franchise interesting?

Iām thinking of starting a sim only franchise but giving myself some rules. Just want someone opinions on which of these would provide the most entertainment
- Can only draft/Sign players from colleges within your teams state
or
- Can only draft/Sign players Born within your teams home state
or
- Get something to choose a random college conference and i can only draft/sign players from that conference and change it yearly
