What's your best way of keeping machine tools safe from rust over a long period of time?

So I might be going overseas to work for a while (few to 5 years) and all the scrap iron I have in my garage shop is just going to sit. What's the best way to make sure it doesn't actually turn into scrap metal when I come back?
Naval Jelly? Lather on the LPS 3 I already use? What would you do? Also what am I probably forgetting to get my shop ready for long term storage?
