Why would disengage the threading dial on a lathe?
Post Body
I have a Cincinnati Hydrashift lathe that you can disengage and engage the threading dial. Why would you need to be able to do this? There's a little dial to bring the teeth into the lead screw or tighten it up completely away from the lead screw so it does not spin if the halfnut is engaged.
