Hey Guys, been following this reddit for a while mainly because I love the shit you guys make. I've been a manufacturing engineer for defense contractors for about 5/6 years now and I gotta say I'm a little tired of the production pressure and stress. I'm considering changing my career emphasis. What do you guys recommend I do if I wanted to get into something closer to "machine shop" responsiblities that would take me out of an engineering type of role. Are machine shops less corporate and stressful? I guess I feel silly using my "skills and labor" to provide value for some corporate shareholders and would like to do something with less stress, similar pay (probably a little less), and just as if not more rewarding. I am pretty confident I can get good at CNC programming and I've worked with precisions of up to half a thou for most of my career. I dunno just looking for some guidance I guess.
