So, as I've moved up in my career, I've now found myself in a situation where I've got a company that will buy me anything I ask for and prefers to use only tools they own. And now two full stacks, a big Stanley cabinet and another mechanics cart worth of good tools, angle plates, granite, height gauges, etc in my garage in Florida for now. Never know what might happen in a manufacturing career, and I'm way too far from retirement to not have it on standby.
I've got zerust tabs in the drawers, plus I have a can of LPS3 and RP-342, and random light oils, greases and other lubes that someone that works with mechanical crap for a living and works on their own vehicles. I'm planning on cleaning and soaking all of the fixturing, parallels, jo blocks, etc with the lps3 or rp342. Lighter oils on things like hand tools I may forseably use. Micrometers I figured on light oil and regular check ins, I'm a little leary of how heavy the canned rust preventatives are and not sure about the plastic components that come on digital mics. Spray oil on the drawer slides and caster parts.
Any advise?
