Neckline shaping on garment with some intentional dropped stitches?

Hello friends!

I have an idea for an open-knit sweater that would incorporate dropped stitches, but I'm unsure how I'd approach neckline shaping. I'd like to add normal ribbing to the neckline as well. I've previously used this tutorial for neckline shaping, but I'm a little confused on how I would accomplish something similar on a garment where half the stitches are dropped. I'm worried it would cause some bunching to try and replicate the exact method I've used before, so I'm wondering how I might be able to modify the technique to suit a garment that has intentional drop stitches.

Let me know if you have any ideas on how I could approach this!
