I had some toques made up for my crew and for leave behinds/gifts and I'm just wondering if this would be considered acceptable.
The stitching is just spaced too far apart on the show face - the tight stitches on the back face are more what I imagined it would look like.
The company I got the gear from has the proper equipment - I've used them before. They've recently started operations under a different name. The customer experience has even changed drastically.
Am I being too picky or is this what one would expect from embroidering this type of fabric?
Nope you are not being too picky at all. This is not something I would ever hand over to a customer. There’s several things wrong here (and I see someone in this thread saying that there’s basically nothing that can be done to make this look good on a toque- that is absolutely NOT true, it wouldn’t even be that difficult to get a good result from this). Toques just require knowing how to digitize for them properly, and there’s times like this when cutaway stabilizer is a better choice than tearaway. I’m betting they also stretched out the fabric too much when hooping it.
