Help Fix Puckering/Alignment
Post Body

Hi. I’m doing my first embroidery project ever on a machine, and I’m trying to correct a few issues that I wanted to get help with.

  • There is a bit of puckering (buckling?) in Garfield’s leg by his tail and his cheek. I think there was more, but I ironed both sides and it seemed to be better. Might be a false memory.
  • Some spots aren’t quite filled like the upper print of the hat of Garfield’s toes.
  • Other spots you can see the lower layers peaking out like around the eyes and on the left side where the orange shows a bit.
  • The second garfield is the exact same file and setup just with some difference colors, but the results were noticeably worse.

I’m embroidering a 100% cotton sweatshirt that I washed and applied 2 layers of tear away to. I’ve been using Hatch and a birnina machine.

Any advice? I appreciate any/all help and feedback!

For a design like this you’ll get better results using cutaway stabilizer.

Did you digitize the design yourself or buy it?
