Recovery Partition Question (Cross Post)

I don't know the answer, although I may try to find out by trial and error. I'm hoping one of you knows more than me on this subject.
How often is the Big Sur Recovery Partition updated? With each OS version install? Is it a base image that just downloads the updates it needs during installation?
Say you bought an M1 MBP with 11.0.1 on it... Would recovery reinstall that or 11.2.2 if that is what you currently run?
