I've recently purchased an M1 Max MBP and have been happily using it in replacement of my 2010 Mac Pro 5,1. I have it configured to run 3 external monitors and it sits vertically on my desk with the lid closed in clamshell mode. The only problem I still haven't found a work around for has been booting up the computer after shutting it down completely. I'm trying to find a way to do that without having to disconnect all my peripherals, open the lid, press power button and then closing it back up again.
I'm aware that I could just put it to sleep and using a Bluetooth device to wake it up but I've just gotten into the habit of shutting down my computer at the end of the day and I'd love to find some kind of USB utility that allows for sending the same boot up signal to the computer that the built-in keyboard boot button does. Kind of like a "boot key" where it can literally be a single key that I press and it functions the same way as the built-in keyboard.
I've been doing a lot of research online for something like that but haven't had much luck. If anyone has advice on what to do and perhaps some of you have a similar configuration and have figured out a better way of booting up, I'd love to hear from you.
