Best macOS to run on my machine.

I have recently purchased a MacBook Air 13inch, Early 2015. Serial Number says that it was made in 2017. I acquired it with High Sierra on it a IT friend of mine suggested I get macOS Monterey, which I ultimately did.. but I was wondering if there is an earlier or later version I should have running on this instead. The reason I ask is because it seems to be running very choppy when I am on certain website like Discord, especially when there are more than 2 people in a VC. Anyway, thanks in advance for your input.
