So, for years I've told my friends about this, but they think I'm just messing around. Back when I was a teen ( /- 10 yrs ago), I remember playing a custom multiplayer game with my brother. This was on an XBOX 360 S btw.
We were split screening on Rust. I was using either the M4A1 or the SCAR-H, all I remember is that it was tan colored, and I had either a Red Dot Sight or a Holo Sight on my gun. My brother went to do something, so I was just messing around with my guy. I started pressing random buttons, and told myself, 'What happens if I press all the buttons down at once?'. So I did that, and nothing happened, then I tried doing the Konami Code, nothing happened. Then I just started hitting random buttons, when finally I pressed X...
My character reached over to the sight using his left arm, and placed his hand on the sight. He then moved it back, like towards the stock, and then moved it forward towards the barrel. When he brought back his arm, my gun did not have an attached sight, but rather the iron sights. When I pressed X again, my character did the same animation, and my sight was attached to my gun. I was freaking out, and when my brother came in I showed it to him and he was just as amazed as I was. I did this a total of 3 times, once by myself, once to show my brother, and then one more time right after showing him.
OTHER DETAILS ABOUT THE ANIMATION:
- When the hand is placed on the sight, it doesn't grab it, it just places a cupped hand on it.
- The sound of chambering in a new round plays during the animation, starting when hand is on sight, and ending when arm returns to normal side. *After looking up reload sounds on YT, the closest it sounds like is an Intervention chambering in a new round.*
- I don't remember if the left arm was attached to the body, or if it was just the upper portion of the arm (so like a floating segment), but I do remember it showed all the way up to the elbow area.
I've looked through old forums, reddit posts, YT videos, and all other corners of the internet but have not found anything. So my final question is, WHAT IS THE BUTTON SEQUENCE?
TL;DR: (XBOX 360 S) Memory of a button sequence that can be used to take off a red dot sight and re-attach it mid game. Unknown sequence, but remember that LT was held down and X was final button pressed.
