Thinking of getting a new bike, need help with sizing

I am 5 foot 6 male. The bike I want to get is a Boardman Mountain Bike Pro 29er
However the sizing for a 5 foot 6 guy is in between maximum recommended 16 inch frame and minimum recommended 18 inch frame. Does anyone have any ideas which would suit me more? I have been to two Haflrods and they only have the 19 inch bike on show which is too big.

- 5' 1" - 5' 5" 156 - 167 16"
- 5' 6" - 5' 8" 170 - 175 18"
- 5' 10" - 6' 1" 178 - 185 19"
However when you look at the seat post tube size, there is only 50 cm difference between 16 and 18 inch?!
