I'm tall for a female, 5'9" and am still riding a 27.5" hardtail, haven't made and have no need to make the switch to a 29'er. But I have a friend who is 4'11" and she is looking for a good MTB, sub $2K. would a 27.5" or even an old 26" work? Her inseam is 28".
She's not new to cycling, she been racing crits and training regularly since I met her back in 2017, just new to the MTB world.
Shes eyeballing a used 26" IBIS Mojo frame and fork that is for sale locally. I think 27.5" would be to big and 29, way to big.
