What happens if you get road rash on top of road rash?

Post Body

I cased a gap yesterday and tumbled down a big steep landing made out of concrete. It was like that scene from John Wick (4?). I have a few contusions and a ton of road rash but am otherwise not injured. Being as I'm on vacation specifically for biking and drove 10 hours to get here, I really want to keep riding. I'm just terrified of falling again. What could the consequences be? Superficial road rash turn into more of a skin graft situation? To what extent would thicker clothes help? I have jeans and could wear a light jacket. FWIW the ER doctor I saw cleared me to ride if I'm feeling up to it, I just cringe at the thought of potential falling again. Maybe I need to ride but stick to the very easiest trails that I know I can do without falling 99.9% of the time. That's boring though!
