I ride in southern Arizona and looking for my second bike (upgrading from a 2013 Lapierre Zesty XT). I have been riding for about a year, but at 40 I’m not trying to break any (major) bones for the sport so keep things on the moderate side. Lots of chunky climbs, lots of gravel ups, and big ol’ rocks all the way down.
Help me decide between buying a used SJ carbon (looks like it’d be 2022 if I’m patient on CL), a Sight C2 (Eagle GX) for $3k vs a Ripley AF Deore for $2700?
The Sight is the best deal but worried it won’t climb as well as I need it to (e.g. the rear shock doesn’t lock out).
