I'm building up a Ripmo AF frameset and currently have a charger 2.1 Lyrik for it. Use case will be about 46.5% bike park, 46.5% trail riding, 5% slow xc and 2% casual Enduro racing. I have a Ripley for less rowdy stuff, and since I live in the less rowdy stuff, this will be my bike for vacations (which I'm fortunate enough to be able to take often). I weigh about 200 lbs (although I'm looking to drop at least 20 this year) and am a pretty average rider.
Reason I bring this up is because of the very attractive Fox sale going on right now 😅. Is moving to a 38 worth it for a very average but on the heavier side rider who hits bike parks? Or alternatively, is there a very good reason to chose a fox 36 over the Lyrik that I already have?
I suppose there could also be a case to be made that the stiffness is probably limited somewhere else in the setup (I have spank alloy wheels, plan on running trail tires, etc, so why bother with an ultra burly fork?)
