Travelling to the Netherlands, is it worth buying a bike and bringing it back with me?

Hi, i’ll be travelling to the Netherlands in a few months from Australia. While i’m over there i will be getting around by hiring a bike and using public transport.

I had a thought about possibly purchasing a dirt jump bike while i’m over there to use for travel instead of hiring a bike and then bringing it back with me on the plane (since Dj’s only weigh about 11kg it shouldn’t cost me extra).

My main riding here in Aus is at pumptracks/dj’s so It would be awesome to be able to buy a bike that is unavailable in Australia such as a Rose - The Bruce or Trek Ticket. For reference a Commencal Absolut costs $3.3k AUD here for roughly the same spec bike as the Rose which is €1400 (2.2k AUD) in the Netherlands.

Would also appreciate it if anyone knows stores in the Netherlands that sell/build dirt jumpers too!
