TO

establish a body to have overview over the standards of expenses and renumeration of Members of the Legisative Assembly, similar to the Westminster Body known as IPSA.

BE IT ENACTED by being passed by the Northern Ireland Assembly and assented to by Her Majesty as follows:

Section 1: Formation

The Executive shall make provision for an independant standards authority, that shall be responsible for setting the code of conduct of MLAs, setting the rules for the expenses and adjusting their renumeration by the conclusion of this sitting term.

Section 4: Extent, Commencement and Short Title

A. This bill extends to the whole of Northern Ireland.

B. This bill shall be referred to as the "Stormont Standards Authority Formation Bill 2019"

C. This bill will come into effect upon being passed by the Northern Ireland Assembly and assented to by Her Majesty the Queen.
