Not bad but a long way from great.
He is still not super comfortable and relaxed and it comes through. I am sure Stavros knows that he will have to work on getting rid of the โRight?โ Verbal crutch.
I am also not sure he has found his own particular voice rhythm or style yet. Not that he was copying anyone directly it just feels like he is still trying stuff on.
This actually reminded me of early Louis CKstand up. The upbeat rhythm and unnatural timing which makes it sound like he is delivering a bit, even if the bit is good. https://youtu.be/P3jLufZx3IM
I think Stavy will get better with more time and I have a feeling his final form is going to either be over the top silly Greek fat giggles or something very very dark.
Also, this is why Shane in particular stands out when it comes to new comedians. He just has his own style and by that I mean he is just him so it never seems like he is delivering a bit to you but like you are listening to a funny guy at a party telling an awesome story. For what ever reason this is super rare.
There are 4 guys I can think of who have this. Louis CK..now and itโs obvious it took him years of work to get there. Dave Chappell.. Natural, watched him do his first specials when I was in college. Jim Jeffries..saw him the other week even though he has fallen out of the spotlight or great comedian conversation man this guy dominates a big stage and makes you feel just as comfortable as he seems to be on stage. Then Shane.
I could put Burr and Segura in this category but I think they are doing something a little different.
EEEVERYONE ELSE is still trying to find it.
