I just felt the need to share..

I went off of dairy when baby was 1 month old at the recommendation of my NP for his reflux.

At about 2.5 months baby started having green mucus poops. Then around 3 months I started seeing flecks of blood. I immediately went off egg and soy, spike to my NP who referred me to a pediatrician.

Dr said the mucus and green was nothing to worry about and that baby had a cut on his anus. Prescribed a cream.

I had this sub and the various Facebook groups in my head. Especially when the blood continued off and on even after the cream.

I spoke to an LC and my NP again because I was struggling with what to eat. They both told me because I wasn't seeing more than flecks of blood to try reintroducing. I was so scared and hesitant.

I eventually did it, slowly and things didn't get worse. The blood actually stopped. I'm now eating dairy, soy and egg again. And his green mucus poops have gone away. They went away once I started eating normally. He now has the typical consistency yellowish brown poops and no more blood.

I'm not saying there aren't some babies that have a genuine allergy, but this sub and other sources convinced me that mine did when he didn't. Baby's reflux probably cleared up because his esophagus matured at the same time I went off dairy.

Always always consult medical professionals. I just felt the need to share my story.
