GS63 Stealth 8RE - installed new battery, now keyboard won’t light (but it flashes at post)

I’m stumped here.
Installed a new battery on my laptop. Now the per-key RGB keyboard has gone dark. It still flashes the correct color when the boot posts but then goes dark when startup is complete.
I tried resetting the EC and nothing happened. The keyboard types fine, it just won’t light. No other components are having issues.
Anyone experienced this?
