MSI G65 -- really loud (fans) when gaming?

My MSI has just over 1 year old. It was just recently cleaned to get rid of dust that might have accumulated within. I always use it on a desk, usually slightly elevated on some sort of stand, to allow for proper ventilation. Despite all this, the computer gets unbearably hot when gaming (like a plane taking off!!) The computer was bought in the US, but I am currently living in Europe. I am not sure if part of the problem is the difference in the electrical current (voltage here is 220 instead of 110). Is this normal? What can I do to make the computer more silent?
