Is getting a laptop case a good idea?

I just ordered an MSI laptop (GP75 Leopard 10SFK-026 is what it’s labeled as on the website), and I’ve read a lot about overheating issues. Do you guys recommend I buy a laptop cover to keep on it 24/7 or not? I don’t want it to be more susceptible to overheating, but protection is important since it’s such an expensive laptop.
Additionally, any of you guys know any good cases I can buy for it?
