I posted here a couple days ago about considering a solo cruise with MSC on the Meraviglia and some concerns I had. I’m very excited to report back that I took the leap today and booked the cruise! I booked an Aurea balcony cabin with the drink package for what I think is a very fair price for a solo cruiser… still hundreds cheaper than the base price Royal Caribbean wanted for an interior cabin on a very comparable itinerary. This will be my first cruise in 10 years, and I am oh so excited to get back into cruising! I did book an excursion already, the ultimate behind the scenes tour during the first sea day. I’m excited to plan more excursions, and see what kind of upgrade offers MSC emails me. For the right price I’d consider bidding on Yacht Club if it’s available, but if not I think I’ll be happy and just fine with Aurea. When can I expect an email about upgrades, will it essentially be up to them whenever they want to send it? I also was able to get into my account on the app today, which I’m very relieved about… it wouldn’t let me in on the app or website a couple days ago. I’m sure I’ll have more questions as the trip gets closer, so I look forward to all the insight I can gather here from this subreddit!
