What happens if you pay the admission deposit, but later back out?

I have been faced with an email that states that the deadline for my deposit to my program is tomorrow. First question, do I have to pay by today, or do I have the flexibility of paying tomorrow considering that is the deadline?
Second but more important question, I am waiting on another program at another school. Can I pay it now and then later not go to MRU? It is ok if I lose the deposit.
Thank you so much for your help, this is a very urgent problem.
