Hey so I got MRSA on my calf about 3 years ago-- just randomly, no idea when I was exposed or what specifically introduced it, I might have gotten a small scrape or something that became infected. It was hellish to get rid of it, had to do 2 courses of antibiotics and wash my whole body every day with hibiclens. It did finally go away, or at least dormant.
I have a lot of tattoos and I have gotten 4-5 since the time I had the MRSA. But the last one I got did end up developing MRSA and it was the whole thing again, tons of antibiotics and hibiclens to get it to finally go away. Now I'm afraid to get any more tattoos. I know they told me that once I have MRSA it's probably never going away for good, but I don't know what to do-- like do I just never get another tattoo ever again because of the risk? TBH I do NOT want to go through that again, it's so awful as I am sure a lot of you know. But it was just weird that I had gotten a bunch of tattoos with no problem and then out of the blue, one of them gets MRSA. Anyone else have experience with this?
