Is it time for a new printer?
Post Body

So I've had my printer for just over a year (out of warranty, to be sure). I won't say it's been perfect, but I've had very few faults with it.

Last week, the nozzle stopped extruding completely. Figuring it was jammed, I did the usual cleaning routines. No joy whatsoever.

Okay, time for a new nozzle. Ordered one, got it in, and swapped out the old one for the new one (exact same replacement). Yeah, the old one was definitely jammed and scorched badly.

Re-leveled the bed, and started up a test print of the standard Calibration Cube. "Grind grind grind," said the printer, followed by this.

It's simply not extruding right, nor is it even attempting to home now. When I try to send the head to home, it tries to send the head through the gantry and the build plate.

USB, Wifi, SD card, doesn't matter. It refuses commands completely.

So is it time to retire this printer and go with a new one?
