Today the Kiwi Party are announcing a policy which no other party are proposing. This policy will be unique to the Kiwi Party in New Zealand, after this policy has gained traction after it being a topic in the US Presidential Election and a major UK Party supporting it. This policy is Universal Basic Income, the Kiwi Party supports giving every Kiwi adult a trial amount of $1000, which if successful will be raise to $2000. I am going to explain why in this speech...
Universal Income, can be easily misrepresented as communism, it’s not. Instead we are shifting the wealth away from big business and the rich, and into the hands of the poor and middle class which need it. For the poor, it help give the money they need to life them out of poverty, it will mean that stay at home parents have a source of income and that parents have more money for their kids. For the middle class it means and extra $1,000 can be used for new risks, more people creating new business and experimenting in the market and more competition for top companies, who rely on their monopoly.
So Universal Basic Income isn’t Socialism, it’s helping more people to use capitalism, not just the rich to use it for their personal gain. If you think that UBI would be good for our business, people and economy then make sure to vote for the Kiwi Party this election and we will deliver this promise!
