The national list candidate and the candidate for Manukau visited the Flat today in the morning at Auckland to be interviewed by Sam and Bob, the hosts at the time.
Sam: Today I’d like to welcome our guest for the morning, the National candidate for Manukau and former minister. The one, the only, TheAudibleAsh.
Ash: Great to be here today.
Bob: Hello Ash, let’s start of the day with talk about climate change. The National party is often labeled as the party that is negligent to climate change. How would you address this situation?
Ash: Well let me start of by saying that National takes an innovative and balanced approach to climate change as opposed to the green party’s policy which is implementing drastic reform that disadvantages small businesses and households. We plan to ensure that at least half of our public sector vehicles are hybrid or electric, which acts like a role model to everyday kiwis. We plan to also create a tyre recycling scheme via regulations within the Waste Management Act, reducing the amount of littered vehicle tyres. The National party also believes that the carbon tax is a useful tool to cut down emissions and we will take on the rate of $10 per tonne.
Sam: Our network has a lot of Maori viewers and they will certainly be interested in what the National party can offer for the community. Please enlighten us Ash.
Ash: The National party recognises the importance of the Te tiriti in New Zealand culture and law and support all principles of the treaty of Waitangi. We will stand against any move to abolish the Maori Electoral Option which ensures that they have representation in our local parliament. National is committed to solving as many treaty of waitangi claims as we can. We are committed to increasing the office of treaty settlements by $10 million annually. The National party will also increase funding for Whanau Ora, which is a department that looks out for the welfare of all Maori New Zealand citizens.
Bob: That’s all the time we have for today, any last words?
Ash: Make sure to vote for the National Party which looks out for the welfare of Maori, which that takes an innovative approach to the environment and which cares for workers. Militant unions and greens delenda est.
