Reform Deputy Leader dyljam meets with New Zealand’s farmers, declares Reform ‘The Party for Farmers’.
“Thank you all for coming here today. I know just how tough it can be to get some spare time when you’re working on the land, so I really appreciate that you could make it.”
“I’d just like to speak a little on the upcoming election, and what it means for regional and rural New Zealand. We’ve seen nothing from the incumbent government in assistance to farmers. They’ve got no plans, and no proper policy for those who work in the agriculture sector.”
“The Greens are no friends of farmers, or of working Kiwis. Their extreme environmental policies will only serve to hurt the agricultural industry even further.”
“The only party that is the friend of farmers is Reform.”
“We’re prepared to back New Zealand’s farmers. We understand how important agriculture is in our economy. With our export-led economics policies, we’ll Implement strategies for export-led economic development to add value to our resources, relying on independent business expertise with government support to encourage success. We’ll also provide tax incentives for businesses to engage in research and development leading to innovation and export growth. This will work greatly to protect and grow our agriculture sector, and our economy.”
“We’re also going to stop the sale of land – including farmland – to non-permanent residents and overseas buyers. Because to put quite simply, New Zealand belongs to New Zealanders. It’s time that we stop overseas purchasers from buying our farms, only to put local farmers out and instil their own money-making ventures on the site.”
“In doing such, we’ll also create a comprehensive register of foreign ownership of our land and property here in New Zealand. We will use this data to assist with further immigration policy.”
“We’re also going to dramatically slash immigration into New Zealand. We’ll reduce the number of skilled migrants to about 10,000 each year into the country. We will always make sure that Kiwi workers are at the front of the job queue, and Kiwi businesses, property, and assets are protected.”
“We’ll ensure that immigration policy is based on New Zealand’s interests and the main focus is on meeting critical skills gaps. Also, we’ll ensure immigration under ‘family reunion’ is strictly controlled.”
“On top of this, we’lliIncrease the Permanent Residency qualification period from the current two years to four years, and increase the Citizenship qualification period from the current five years to six years.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, the answer is simple.”
“For a New Zealand for New Zealanders, vote Reform.”
