National candidate /u/dyljam speaks this afternoon at Napier Central School about the Nat's education policies. He also takes questions from locals concerned about local and national issues.
"Thank you for having me here this afternoon. It really is an honour to be able to come and see the amazing work that is happening here."
"The National Party is firmly committed to providing the best possible education for all Kiwi kids."
"If elected, National is committed to the construction of new classrooms at schools around the nation. We will also update the national curriculum, including allowing all kids to learn a second language."
"We understand that education shouldn't be seen as an expense, but rather an investment. As such, we plan to increase the investment into schools."
The floor is welcomed to ask any questions they wish.
The first person to ask a question is Allan, who asks what National will do for the economy.
"Thanks for that question, Allan. National has always been the party for a strong economy. Unlike the inner-city Greens and the increasingly alike Labour Party, we understand just how important it is to maintain a strong economy for the betterment of all Kiwis."
"That's why, if elected, we'll implement a range of means to increase productivity and jobs. We plan on reucing red tape to make it easier for businesses to interact and work with the government."
"We'll stand firmly against any income tax hikes. We'll also ensure that all foreign companies are paying their fair share of tax."
