National candidate /u/dyljam visits locals at Springvale Park, Whanganui, speaking about the Nat’s policies on housing and the environment.
“Hi everyone, thanks for coming out here this morning.”
“It’s wonderful to be here in Whanganui today.”
“I want to speak to you about two topics close to my heart - housing and the environment.”
“For too long, the issue of housing affordability has been ignored. We have many people who are living in state housing and who can’t afford to purchase a house at market price. They don’t have the funds to go out there and get a home loan, and then purchase a place of their own”
“If elected, the Nats will introduce a rent-to-buy program for all those living in public housing. This will allow many hard-working families the chance to own a place of their own. To have pride in their homes. To stand on their own two feet.”
Cheers from the crowd
“But I also want to talk about the environment. I know that many of you want sensible action in regards to protecting our beautiful country.”
“And the Nats have listened. If elected, we’ll offer incentives for buses and trucks to be traded for newer, electric models.”
“We’ll also prioritise investment into science and renewable energy, to help do our part in looking after the world we live in.”
“We’ll make sure that NZ becomes petrol-free by 2050, with continued support of electric transportation.”
“This election, the choice is clear. You can vote for more inaction from the Labour Party, or you can vote for the National Party and help move New Zealand forward!”
Cheers and applause.
