People of New Zealand,
I am proud to be standing for election to the National Party List.
Over my time in observing New Zealand politics I have observed a very noticeable trend in how the different ideologies operate in New Zealand. The Left tend to campaign on immaterial things, things that don't impact family incomes, the economy, jobs, or growth. They tend to campaign on things such as identity, race, and other irrelevant politics. This was highlighted particularly with the Wellbeing and Sustainable Development Act the Greens passed. This did nothing to contribute to helping out New Zealanders who were worse off than the rest, but rather it sought to label them and report figures so they could nod heads and twiddle thumbs. Well, they couldn't even do that, as their big trip up was that it involved numbers.
They hate numbers, they're the worst with numbers as highlighted in their budgets, they believe that the best way to assist New Zealanders getting by is increasing the price of fuel. I hate to tell them this but in disincentivising the use of petrol, you're not doing much as it's disincentivising a basic necessity to live in New Zealand. Electric Vehicles are not yet a feasible method of transport for many Kiwis, particularly our rural ones, I am yet to see a farm that has an electric charging point and I am yet to see a Nissan Leaf drive through a creek. The fact is, is that EVs are not suitable for some New Zelanders, this is because the research and development is not quite there yet.
This brings us to another problem, the Left wing Government has failed to invest in Research and Development in Science and Technology, we haven't seen a funding plan committed by them to get equipment to take us down into Pike River, we haven't seen a plan for them to increase investment into our technological institutes at all. This brings us to the sad fact that the Left just does not care for New Zealanders. It's sad, but it's true. We are yet to see a Left wing Government that genuinely commits to supporting the majority of New Zealanders in a tangible, focused, and effective manner, because like with the Wellbeing and Sustainable Development Act, it's all talk, no walk, and they shift the goalposts when someone scores a try because the one thing that they can't stand is the reality that they're not as good as they chalk themselves up to being.
New Zealand, I am proud to be launching my campaign in Hastings today, because Hastings is a beautiful city, but something that the Hawkes Bay in particular suffers from is the affliction of gangs and the manifestation of crime. The Hawkes Bay is a beautiful region, but the lack of Government awareness on the activity of gangs in this region makes me sick. We need to crack down on crime, get tough on crime, and make the bad guys pay because I tell you what, giving them a foot rest and a back rub for when they kill someone's child, or kill someone's brother, or mother is not going to stop offending. It's leading to a government-subsidised murder industry and I hate it, and so does National. We will stop the state monopoly on murder, and we will destroy the gangs once and for all.
Thank you, and remember to Party Vote National.
