Along the Waitemata Harbour, the Opportunities Party sailboat from the fifth election sails up towards Te Atatu. /u/silicon_based_life can be seen piloting the boat, waving to citizens on the North Shore as he goes. The Opportunities Party sailboat sails up the Whau River and anchors outside the Te Atatu Boat Club. A couple of volunteers row out to the sailboat to pick up /u/silicon_based_life, and they row to shore, then walk up to the Rotary Reserve, where a press stand-up has been organised.

“Greetings all and thank you for coming today. I’ve come to make an announcement regarding the by-elections occurring this week in the northern areas of New Zealand. Those of you who follow the TealBlog will be aware that the party has endorsed WillShakespeare for the Northland by-election. I stand here today to announce this, and also that - unsurprisingly - we endorse BHjr for the Waitemata by-election.

“BHjr has been my cabinet colleague for a short time but we have got to know each other well, and I believe he is genuine and honest in his goals and desires for the people of Auckland. He far and above the most apt candidate for the by-election, especially for Opportunities Party supporters. On one side you have the radical capitalist ACT party, which advocates policies which will damage the rights of workers and attack important progressive policy in this country, and on the other side you have the radical Socialist Aotearoa, which will damage the economy and liberal status quo which allows us to stay strong as a nation. BHjr is the only way forward to provide a strong, stable government, and to preserve the excellent policy wins the Opportunities Party has made so far in this government. I will remind our supporters that the TOP tax plan, superannuation scheme, and key environmental policies are all being implemented this term. Not voting for BHjr jeopardises those key wins.
