Stopping in Hamilton on his way down the country, Prime Minister /u/Fresh3001 spoke to a crowd of hungry journalists to make a statement on the Waikato by-election on behalf of the Liberal Party.

"I endorse the National Party candidate, /u/PineappleCrusher_. The National Party, and Ms Crusher, hold political views the closest to the Liberal Party of all candidates. She would make a fine member of Parliament and I support her campaign for the Waikato electorate wholeheartedly. In addition to this, a National victory in this by-election would mean that the government retains its substantial majority and can continue to govern effectively for New Zealand. We're delivering for New Zealand in government and this by-election will be a test of our support in the regions - our agricultural heartland. Reform voters should also consider supporting the National candidate - only Ms Crusher can win, and a vote for the Reform candidate will just hand the by-election to the Greens."
