Prime Minister /u/Fresh3001 today held a rally supporting /u/Kingethan15’s campaign in the Northland by-election. From the balcony of the Cape Reinga Lighthouse, the Prime Minister addressed supporters and the media, outlining what the government plans to do for Northland and New Zealand as a whole.
“From Cape Reinga to The Bluff, over my career in public service and politics I’ve had the opportunity to meet New Zealanders from all across the country, and I’ve got to say it’s one of the perks of the job. There’s nothing more satisfying than meeting the electorate that I represent - not just East Cape but all of New Zealand - and it’s a pleasure to be back up in Northland. We’re not just standing at Cape Reinga today to invoke an old Kiwi proverb, however: I intend to present a fairly cheesy metaphor too. Geographically, this is the top of New Zealand, and this Liberal Government plans to bring New Zealand to the top. We were elected to our second term of government because that’s the message that we present to New Zealanders, and that’s what we’re delivering on.
“The Liberal Party has a grand plan to continue the economic growth which took off in the previous term, and we’re fully committed to our Rockstar Economy. We’re delivering on lower income tax rates for all of New Zealand, and we’re helping out New Zealand businesses by cutting corporate tax too. We’re cutting red tape and reforming inefficient bureaucracy to ensure that New Zealanders’ tax dollars are well spent. But what’s just as important is what we plan to do for Northland. Our Regional Investment Corporation bill will set up a government entity to administer cheap loans to regional entrepreneurs right here in Northland, to stimulate regional growth and the development of infrastructure. Our plan to introduce agricultural debt mediation will reduce financial strain on farmers, and our plan to sell off Landcorp will mean more opportunities for regional development. /u/Kingethan15 has the rural credentials, is an effective minister, and would make a fantastic electorate MP for Northland. So get out there and vote /u/Kingethan15 and the Liberal Party!”
