Looking to lose myself in an MMO. Is The Secret World good?

Im getting a new laptop soon and classes start in 3-4 months. Looking to dump some huge time into mmos again and im wondering if tsw is fun. Id like to know about the playerbase. Is it big? Is crafting nice? Are people friendly? I keep hearing the quest system is amazing but is there anything annoying or bad about the quest systm?
What others would you suggest though if not tsw?
