Hoping 2024 onwards brings some new MMOs that are actually worth playing. This era of playing MMOs from the 2000s and early 2010s should've stopped a long time ago IMO

Post Body

In the past few years New World and Lost Ark are the only MMOs that come to mind for me that had significant attention and New World was an absolute disaster (and no I don't think the expansion is going to magically save the game) Lost Ark's gameplay is amazing but the loop is extremely mind numbing. I'm hopeful but cautious Chrono Odyssey is decent. I've all but given up on Ashes of Star Citizen. 2013-2015 feels like the last time we really got some big drops MMO-wise and since then all games that have come out have been lackluster. Gaming is at an all time peak with games like BG3, Starfield, etc but we're stuck playing old ass MMOs that aren't utlizing any of the advancements the industry has gotten in the past couple of years. WoW, GW2, FFXIV, etc can keep making whatever updates they want to but at the end of the day you can feel their age compared to newer games like Lost Ark. It's a shame that game doesn't actually want you to play the game lmao.
