TLDR at the bottom
I just wanted to introduce myself as you'll be seeing me more frequently around here as a new subreddit moderator.
A bit of background, I have been invested in MMF since early January. I am not affiliated with the core dev/mod/community management team in any way. I am active on the different telegram groups and a bit on the discord under the same username (Prof Paslor).
I noticed the subreddit had been flooded with unsupported FUD post lately and wanted to support the current mod team to get it back under control. As such, I will be almost exclusively focusing on reducing the amount of FUD on the subreddit. FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) contributes in the spread of panic and negative sentiment within the community. This can be done voluntarily, to hurt the ecosystem, or involuntarily following a loss, etc. Ultimately FUD hurts your and my investment.
From my perspective, to be considered FUD, a post must meet BOTH of the following criteria:
- Negative sentiment towards one or more MMF ecosystem token, platform and/or devs.
- Absence of objective proofs/support for the negative sentiment expressed in 1).
These last few days, some members of the community have shared very high quality posts/videos that expressed nuanced negative sentiment towards the ecosystem and its tokenomics. They did so by using FACTS, sharing segments of the documentation, etc. These are not only acceptable, but are highly encouraged. They serve the community as they allow us to actively reflect and question our investments collectively in a HEALTHY manner.
On the other hand, we have also seen low quality posts, making extremely serious allegations about the project without providing a single piece of evidence, or even more misleading, by providing evidence that had nothing to do with the allegations. This is unacceptable and only aims at spreading panic in our community.
I also want to make it explicit that price action you are not happy about (anything but green!), is NOT in itself evidence or proof of any wrongdoing from the devs. We are in a Bear market, small cap alts are always more affected than blue chip tokens as people will tend to leave their riskiest assets for safer grounds.
How will I handle FUD as described above?
- Immediate removal of the post
- A warning. After 3 warnings, the user will be banned.
TLDR:
- Constructive criticism and well supported argumentation, whether it is negative or positive will always be encouraged on this subreddit
- FUD will be removed and result in bans.
