Curiosity does kill the cat. And everything else.
Post Body

Hi MMFB.

I need to vent this out to someone who isn't closely related to me/I have a strong bond with.

Today, I was the victim of my own curiosity.

I[M,25]'ve been dating this girl[F,22] for 4 months (5 months tomorrow). It's been great, ups and downs as with any other relationship, but all really cool and fun. I am an overthinker, tend to read between the lines (perks of being a psychotherapist). For the past few days, I've been feeling like my girl has gone cold and distant with me, we weren't speaking with that sort of spark that we used to. I confronted her twice about it, and she said I was just thinking things too much, that I needed to chill and take a deep breath. A couple days ago I texted her and she didn't reply for about two hours, when she finally replied she said she had been talking with a friend from college. I brushed it off.

Fast forward to today. She's supposed to sing at her friend's choral direction exam, and she invites me to see the performance. I of course, go to her place and she's not there because she's at the last rehearsal (and the show wasn't for a couple hours anyway). Her mom invites me in (I guess I should add, we're not in the US, so expect more Latino customs of this ilk) and tells me to chill in her room since the AC in the living room is broken. I get carried away by my feelings of unease and peek into her Skype conversations. She's been speaking with the same dude from college, talking for hours on end, and he even sent her text messages like "I like you", "smiles awkwardly" and last but not least "Well, a pervert and a sub".

I'm crushed. Psychologically and emotionally drained.
