Henry Cejudo: Bo Nickal ‘maybe 10 fights away' from winning middleweight title

All of these words to defend something no one is arguing against.

Are you okay?

Ahh my bad, I forgot he had spent most of his time at FW in news of his recent venture into LW.

So when you say, “9-1 in his last 10 in the most stacked division in combat sports” you’re painfully incorrect.

No, not really. LW and FW are historically the deepest divisions in any promotion at any given time, particularly in Bellator.

Is Aaron not 9-1 in his last 10?

Nobody has once said that Bo Nickal is fighting killers. Literally everybody has said that he’s fighting an incredibly weak schedule.

This entire conversation is predicated on you saying "there is no point in rushing Bo and ending up with an Aaron Pico".

To which I suggested that Going on huge, exciting win streaks absolutely destroying your competition with highlight finishes is something Bo Nickal should be happy to aspire to.

In typical reddit fashion, you chose to delve into hyper pedantry for the sake of having the last word.

Everything else is an argument you've simply grafted onto this conversation for the purpose of winning it.

The entire premise of my statement is that Aaron Pico has not had a failed career, and the analogy is nonsense.

Second, calling Bellator’s (former) featherweight division the most stacked division in combat sports is hilarious.

I'm talking about LW. LW has the deepest talent pool in MMA, regardless of promotion.

Third, Pico’s last wins are against two dudes that are 6-5 (2-5 in his last 7) and 9-8 in major promotions, literal nobody in 10-7 James Gonzalez, and a bunch of dudes who don’t even have Wikipedia pages. So let’s pump the brakes on Mr. Pico’s schedule.

Oh I'm sorry, I forgot that Bo Nickal dispatched the juggernaut that is Valentine Woodburn.

If Pico needs to pump the brakes, then Bo Nickal is putting his feet through a hole in the floorboards.

There’s no point in rushing him and ending up with an Aaron Pico

9-1 in his last 10 in the most stacked division in combat sports, virtually all of his wins by exciting finishes?

Bo Nickal would be ecstatic to have a career like Pico's.

There would have to be a very unique domino of circumstances for him to get a title shot like that.

Like, short notice fights, huge impressive victories, weird circumstances with existing champion, etc.

He's definitely nowhere near 10 fights away though. 4 fights is more like it assuming he keeps winning in dominant fashion.

His next fight will almost certainly be a fringe ranked guy, and after that he'll be fighting top 10 guys assuming he has a good performance.

No fighter in the top 10 in any division outside of LW or named Belal is more than 2 fights away from a title if they have big performances. He's probably late 2026 assuming he keeps the hype going.

This is what I came here to say. Absolutely no one with any hype at all is more than 4 fights away from a title shot at MW if they deliver.

I think it’s because it’s obvious he’s being fast tracked.

Fast tracked?

He's being slow rolled.

In two fights Alex Periera was fighting Sean Strickland, his next fight was for a championship.

That's being fast tracked.
