I was thinking to bring the community together in jovial competition, I'd host an official trivia game a week, with a pointless prize. Now, I do have a rough idea how to do it, and this submission is to get a feel for suggestions so it can be done properly and avoid discourse about it.
The format:
I was just thinking about doing a jeopardy format for points and procedure and whatnot, choose a category and choose the point thingy. Easy. Of course I'd have to think of a proper buzzer system and that might be a bit of work.
The prizetm :
This is the main point for this discussion. I was thinking about doing it with a mod involved (or a representative of a mod team if no one else around) for the chance of a "no prize" for the week. Just because of tradition (anyone remember the twisquint saga?). So, like one mod and like three users, or however many, duke it out for the crappy prizetm .
What I was thinking the prize would be is a custom flair for the week of winning (heavily restricted, of course, and probably monkey pawed), but Lunar was like "no, that would cause drama and jealousy." And I was like "damn, you're probably right on that one, how about a custom flair available to everyone for the week" and he was like "But then people will come back to their flair being gone" and I was like "double damn, that's a good point too, I should make a topic asking the userbase what they want" and here we are. Another choice is bragging rights, we could always do that.
So, what do you guys want? Is this an idea doomed to fail?
