This girl started talking to me on a plane and after making some small talk, she mentioned a couple who had “retired in their 20s” and “taken her under their wing.”

She went on to say a whole bunch of vague stuff about assets and investing so that the work you put in is paying off for the rest of your life. She wouldn’t tell me specifically what she was talking about, and this seemed similar to many of the MLM bait tactics I’ve read about.

I asked her straight up if she was involved in multi level marketing and she denied it, but after I asked her this she seemed to lose interest in talking to me.

Was this a typical MLM bait? Or did I just offend the girl by making a poor assumption about what she was talking about?
