ps5 controller suddenly doesn't register second tap when pitching?

I even got a new controller and when pitching I can tap the first time for speed but every time it suddenly now doesn't allow a second tap for accuracy, even for batting something seems off like I can't input the hit button in time or something its weird. It's played totally fine up until today anyone else know what I'm talking about?
