Extreme Showdown Nate Pearson Myth
Post Body

I've read a few posts from people offering advice or their experience with Pearson in the showdown. I remember one specifically where someone posted that he was so wild they only needed 4 hits to score the 21 runs because Pearson walked that many guys. I was curious to see just how bad his control might be so I loaded up an Extreme Showdown, skipped right to Pearson, and set the controller down (I did pick it up to put better hitters at the 8 and 9 spot, but I didn't swing at a single pitch). Pearson proceeded to mow through my squad in 166 pitches while only walking two guys and not giving up a run. Someone must have told him that his control was suspect.

Edit: this was simply an experiment to watch Pearson pitch and see how his command was in comparison to what I read. I'm not saying working him into being wild isn't a viable strategy, that's how I've won every Showdown I have. I'm just saying it was kind of funny to watch him walk two guys over 166 pitches.
