Want to play ranked but intimidated …

Like the post says I want to play ranked but I’m very intimidated. I always see these amazing players and I know I’m not that good. But I’ve heard playing online gets the best rewards and faster.
If I lose a lot online is it still faster than playing offline ?
Or should I just touch online when I’m better?
