One of my gripes with DD, especially now, is that it seems to favor giving out like 3 top end flashbacks or legends representing the same team/position. If I had my way every legend would get a card for every team they played on. It's ridiculous that Reds Griffey Jr. was a collection card last year and Reds fans get boned by not getting a single version of him this year. I'm also kind of tired of juiced cards, too, and so when I think of cards I'd like to see, I always get really sick thinking about normal diamonds, golds, silvers, bronzes...even commons. It's fun to roll with them against the CPU for a little bit more of a challenge, and they're also great for theme teams.

So instead of another thread where everyone says they want Jeter, let's talk about what we'd like to see in terms of flashbacks and legends who are already in 22 and are likely to return. (Probably worth assuming someone like Kenny Lofton is getting dropped, for example.)

Anyway, here are some ideas:

Red Sox P Babe Ruth - it's been two or three years since we've seen him I think (he's previously had silver and low diamond versions) and that seems ridiculous given Ohtani. I'm shocked they didn't tie them together with a juiced pitcher Ruth this year! They've also tweaked old time wind ups to be faster (I think) so players might whine less about that if he returns.

ANY Phil Niekro - FREE HIM. He's still in the game but they won't use him in DD because people are such babies about knuckleballers. Ban him from online play if you have to, but it's absurd not to give him a card.

Tigers and Nationals Scherzer - both would probably be diamonds. I'm a Nationals fan but I think Tigers fans are getting absolutely jobbed. I don't think we've EVER seen Tigers Max in DD.

Marlins Mike Piazza - I don't know how you make this happen (maybe a new series for short stints?) but it would be hilarious.

Rookie/Breakout/Prime Kirk Gibson (Tigers) - the Tigers don't get a ton of sexy legends, especially since Cobb disappeared, and it sucks that the only Gibson card was a later gold BR from a year where he hit well but his fielding/speed were busted. Anything representing 1984-1987 would be especially sick.

2010 Nationals veteran Pudge Rodriguez - probably a bronze but would be nice as an option since catcher is so thin.

2009 or '10 Nationals Adam Dunn - 2009 might be better because he'd have OF secondaries.

Giants Vida Blue - he had a few strong years in SF for a veteran or AS card. 1978 would probably be the top choice.

2018 or '19 Patrick Corbin - not just a recycled 2018 monthly or 2019 postseason card either, but something new based on his peak - especially now that he's totally washed.

2014 or '15 Dee Strange-Gordon - I have loved every flashback of his...he just seems to rake when I use him, even the bronze rookie version.

Jean Segura - there are a few versions that would be cool, but his 20/30 2016 with the Diamondbacks would be a blast.

AJ Pollock - 2015 AS, which we've seen before as a low diamond, would be an early season/theme team killer.

Anyway, this just scratches the surface. Ultimately I really want SDS to flood the game with flashbacks and legends that represent a wide swath of players' careers. I for one, would rather have extra "mid" cards with different teams than 3-4 high diamonds of the same guy with the same team. Use them as unique rewards for conquest/mini-seasons/programs, put them in packs, etc. It would be a boon.

What would you all want to see added?
