What to do with extra heroes

Hello guys,
What do you normally do with extra heroes that you have already maxed out? My fusion shrine is always full and I don't want to keep spending to increase the capacity. I have so many maxed out heroes already so not sure what is the best way to utilize the extra heroes. Thanks for your advice in advance!
