A while back I posted about a weekly transgender gathering that is held at the Vertex Coffee shop in Ypsilanti. Well, I've become aware that this coming Saturday, that meeting has been turned over to the Transgender Unity Coalition, which is hosting a special event to address the results of the Presidential election and how the trans community can prepare for it:
In a way, we are test piloting both vibes to see which flows better. Anyone is free to show up and leave at any time, and we will still hand out what we can, which is the focus: getting people the resources that they need. We wish we currently had the resources to hold this event in other parts of Michigan concurrently, but at this time we are smaller startup and still growing." --- r/TransUnityCoalition

-These are uncertain times for the transgender community. Please join us to discuss:
- What you need to do before January 20
- How can I still get healthcare?
- Local and broader resources
- Basic legal rights and what could change
- And more…
I won't be able to make it myself, but for anybody who has concerns about the immediate future for the trans community, this may well be worth your time to attend.
